External Load Operations

Everett Aviation provides helicopter external load operations in some of Africa's most remote areas. Access to these areas is simply impossible by road due to the lack of infrastructure, security concerns and other logistical hurdles. Using the AS350 and BK117 helicopters our services include:

Mineral exploration drilling support

  • Survey and clearing and preparation of drill site.
  • Geologists and other crew positioning
  • Dismantling, moving and constructing drill rigs
  • Slinging core samples
  • Delivering diesel and other supplies to and from drill sites.

Our mineral exploration drilling support customers include many of the world’s leading companies.

Everett Aviation is ISO 9001:2008 certified and has successfully passed Aviation audits from several leading companies.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   A drill move in Diecke, Guinea

Seismic & Geophysical Survey

The use of helicopters for geophysical survey, aerial mapping and seismic operations has been a positive step in environmental protection because it allows collection of data and mapping of large areas with little impact on the ground. It is relatively faster and more efficient than ground based survey which makes it cost efficient for many projects.

The nature of these operations typically require low level precision flying in order to collect the most accurate data. Our team of pilots are trained in both precision flying and precision long line operations so that no matter what type of seismic or geophysical data collection equipment is used, the crew will provide excellent service to the satisfaction of the client – and as always safety first!

Aerial construction work

Aerial construction has many advantages over the use of crane services. Utilizing a helicopter eliminates the setup and tear down costs of employing a conventional crane.

In some cases, it is impossible to use cranes and that is where helicopters come in. A good example of this is when the Mombasa Port wanted to add a radar unit on top of their 300 ft high control tower.

Aircraft Recovery

We are able to access remote areas and use our helicopter equipment to salvage downed aircraft.
Each of our aircraft is versatile and can be reconfigured in a relatively short time to serve the clients changing needs during remote site contracts.

Everett Aviation external load pilots are duly rated and undergo proficiency checks at regular intervals. With their extensive experience and specialized training, you and your mission will be in excellent hands.

Every external load operation is unique so we take the time to assess your mission requirements and use specific techniques such as risk assessments and mitigation to accomplish the mission safely.
